LO4 - Post-Production - Process report (P6,M3)

In this screenshot shows the following steps of me uploading my idents. In this particular screenshot, I was required to upload my first final ident. The first thing I needed to do was create the file as a master file. This is so then I can upload the video in the best standard possible to ensure the quality is maximised as much as it can be.

Once it had been processed, I then had to proceed with the next step, which was to go to settings and change the video code shown in the screenshot above. This is so then it can read the file properly and produce my final ident in the best format it can be in.

This is what final cut pro makes the footage look like when it is finally uploaded which then makes you proceed to...

As I press next, it saves into a designated area in my folder which I personalise the name so I know where to find it and what the video is called so that I can show it on YouTube. To my advantage, I had saved it on my desktop and titled it to "Ident 1 final". This then helped me find it and make it much more easier trying to upload it onto YouTube.

 In this screenshot, it shows you the area you will be uploading that footage that is just been downloading whether that is dragging it onto there or finding it as it was just named and saved in a specific area explained above.

In this screenshot, you can see the process of uploading content on YouTube. Specifically, I was uploading my final ident in this instance. The video appears in the top left part of the screenshot, indicating the ongoing upload process after filling out information such as if it is created for children purposes, what thumb nail to put ..

Finally it uploads to YouTube and then we get the link and upload on blogger. 

LO4 - Post-Production - Sound report (P6,M3)

IDENT 1: SOUND 

here I had imported a sound I had found online army background music for the entire fist second of my character 4s until I started introducing come dine with me and Akcley bridge that was coming up next.

here I had to do a voice over using the mic on garage band which then was imported back onto final cut pro which had me talking about come dine with me coming up. 

I then had imported the original sound from come dine with me which gave the ident a realistic aesthetic and vibrant to it which in my eyes gave the ident a secure balance of professionalism. this audio of soundtrack from come dine had been imported after I started talking, I had to blend the sounds together so it wasn't as noticeable but still has a affect.

Here when I had filmed these short clips and had edited them together, one second where I said "YOU" when important the real audio I realised I had said you very early so I had to cut the sound after duplicating it and made sure it was in the right place so that the audio looks as if I'm the one who is genuinely speaking so the audience doesn't realise and it keeps the professional profile it needs. 

last but not least, I had done another voice over on garage band and kept it at the end seen as along with graphics it would look too much and sound too much. Therefore I ended it with a warm ending of voice over. 

IDENT 2: SOUND 

This image represents the sound I have that plays through the entire second ident which is the song jingle bells that was imported into final cut pro.    

The second sound that also plays is my voice doing a voice over with bits of Yunus representing Santa that was done on garage band but through the mic that was then again imported into my second ident.  

I had blended both sounds into one another through to ensure when watching my ident, it successfully flows together. so, when my voice over ended, I put the voice to go quiet which manipulates the sound of the jingle bells to go louder. 

 

LO4 - Post-Production - Edits and Transitions report (P6)

IDENT 1:

Now I will give a guide on how I used final cut pro to help me edit:

This first screen shot is demonstrating how I had added all the scenes that where filmed that are being used all together to then be able to edit them to the required standard. 

 

I then went online and searched for any Png that would be presented as my logo for channel 4 and went and picked one within all the options and I found that one the most suitable, so I then dragged it onto the desktop to then dragging it onto Final cut pro. After putting the Png above the actual scenes all together, I then dragged it all the way to the end of my ident which ensures that the logo for channel 4 is shown throughout the whole ident. This leads to having the audience aware of what channel they are watching.

I then added transition before I inserted the different programmed that will be shown and even in between. This is purely because I wanted to show the difference from the beginning section of my first ident to the part where I am displaying the fact that the two different channels are going to be shown up next, not far timings from each other. I had done this by clicking the effects icon on the mid right side of the screen and picked this specific transition to put within my sky timelapse. 

Whilst I was sitting with my family, I had taken a video on my phone to show that my family are the contestants that are in come dine with me and that my mother is the current person who is presenting the food seen as she was going up and down trying to clean the kitchen. Considering we cannot use content that is on the tv due to copyright, being able to have the power to use the soundtrack of come dine with me enhanced the support of me trying to convey come dine with me as a programme. When trying to find another alternative I had found a similar sound track to come dine with me so I would have been able to use that if not being able to use the official soundtrack. 

I then added text which was done by clicking the top left icon (the T symbol). Although it wasn't basic title that is shown in the screen grab above, I am showing how I had clicked the T symbol and clicked titles to find the different texts additions I could add to help me demonstrate what programme I'm presenting and to also inform the audience what the programme is called.  

I had refilmed a scene from Ackley bridge which is a programme from channel 4. I then put all the clips together and edited it on my phone then I had air dropped it to the iMac and inserted it. after that I had fidgeted and found a way to lay it out next to the text the same way I did with the video of my family who are acting out come dine with me. I had to then ensure that the background track was accurate which was hard seen as when I said "YOUU", the audio was all together, and they had a long break in-between whereas we didn't when act it out. therefore, I had to cut the audio in half and then places the second half where it lips syncs which was done underneath the videos all put together on Final cut pro. 

Lastly, I then left the time lapse of the sky going in a loop in the background with a little voice over of me saying "stay tuned for more on channel 4". I had recorded it on the mic which was on garage and then imported it onto final cut pro which ensure that it wasn't too much with just graphics and audio but not bland with just graphics. 

IDENT 2:

For my second ident I had done the same exact thing as ident one for my channel 4 logo, but I then went online and searched for any Png that would be presented as my logo for channel 4 and I ended up using the same one from ident 1 but I still followed these steps by dragging it onto Final cut pro. I have shown that these clips are no longer the normal length that they were taken in and rather 2x the speed, this was due to the fact that my filming was too long, and I had to rough it down to 30 seconds and considering I needed majority of the scenes for the ident to make sense I had speed them forward. however, I think it worked out very well towards the end. the second image was me showing the exact same thing happening due to the same reason but mainly to make it look even as it cannot just be one scene that is fast and the rest normal speed. 

This image I had shown at the end of the ident, was to show the audience a visual representative of what my voice over was talking about seen as we told everyone to "grab their milk ... up next is the great British bake off". I had done this in the same way as the Png although, I made the picture and dragged it only the desktop and back onto final cut pro and put it as the main screen, that alone with the voice over and logo is enough to end my second ident off. 

LO3 - Production weeks report (P4)

Production week 4: 

Tuesday 21/11/23- I will be updating my URL sheet. 

Wednesday 22/11/23- collect feedback. 

Wednesday 22/11/23- arrange scenes differently in my second ident to make it make sense. 

 

Thursday 16/11/23- add additions to my analysis findings.

LO4 - Analysis and application of findings Part 1 (P6, M3)

This is my focus group feedback, I was told what went well and what needs to be approved which are the following:

TV IDENT 1:

• Harleen had stated that there needs to be music in the beginning of my ident as it is very awkward. 
• Faz had stated that he believes that the running doesn't have a meaning and doesn't see how it correlates to the ident, although I shorted after explained. 
• Fajars view of the transitions were that they are unnesessary
• Millie pointed out that ident is too long and needs to be shortened as it has passed the time allocated to us. too long of an ident means that the kids watching would find it boring and unpleasing to watch. 
• Faz then realises he prefers putting the programs at the end of the ident.  
• Yunus' input is to add a narrative or voice over to help understand what my ident is trying to display to the public because all he could see and was told is whats coming up next. 
• Fajar then remembered that during the ident she heard that the sound over the acting wasn't on time and was out of place and it was tellable so I needed to put it at the same time that I was filming in the shot. 
• Yunus added that the logo should have been on the right side of the screen as that is traditionally how it is presented on tv and how I should have a look at how channel 4 usual style is when they post idents. 
• Millie tried to state in a nice way that stay tuned for update is unnecessary and silly to put at the end. 
• Fajar said I need to definitely do more voice overs rather then just text.
• Raima and Charleen agreed that I need to make it into less of a youtube channel styled video. 

TV IDENT 2:

• Raima and Harleen stated that it gives more birthday then anniversary vibes to fix that . 
• Yunus said he thinks that it is sending too many messages and is to all over the place as in busy body. (Christmas, birthday, anniversary). Yunus just said to have one message through out that would be more appealing. 
• Faz disagreed and saiid Christmas themed should say because it is festive.
• Millie said I should change the music. 
• Yunus suggested to reshoot some scenes to improve the idea that is portrayed. 

LO4 - Analysis and application of findings Part 2 (P6, M3)

This is my teacher feedback, I was told what went well and what needs to be approved which are the following:

IDENT 1:

• In the section where the four characters are running away, there was my thumb in the shot in the scene, therefore I was instructed to either try crop it or stretch it and manipulate it to the eye. 
• it is not "streaming weekly at 6pm " redo the voice over and say "catch it weekly" as it would be better and more accurate with what I'm trying to portray and advertise as an ident.
• the graphics at the end of "stay tuned for more on channel 4" should be removed as it too much and not needed, the voice over for that is enough.

IDENT 2:

• She stated she likes my idea and there isn't much to alter
• I was told not to bother with the candles on the cake seen as it made no sense as it lead to a birthday cake rather then an anniversary cake celebration because of the candles and just cut the cake straight.
• Miss had advised that I could talk and include a Christmas schedule and make my voice over more Christmas enhanced.
